Warlubie

Warlubie ( German Warlubien ) is a village and seat of the rural community in the powiat Święcki the Polish voivodship Kujawy.

History

The first written mention of the town dates from 1277 as Warlubie from a privilege of the Duke of Pomerellen Mestwin II from 1309 to 1466, the village belonged to the territory of the Teutonic Order, then he was part of Poland. Under the name Warlieb the village belonged until 1920 to the district Schwetz ( Vistula ), province of Danzig-West Prussia, in the district of Marie Werder. Around the year 1820, the village had about 380 inhabitants. 1920, the town was part of the re-established Poland. In September 1939, the town was occupied by German troops. After the end of World War II as Warlubie Warlubien was again part of Poland.
