Warren River (Western Australia)

The Warren River is a river in south-west of the Australian state of Western Australia.

Geography

The river rises in tone State Forest west of Strachan and flows to the southwest under the South Western Highway through. It then flows through the Warren State Forest and Warren National Park, before opening out at D' Entrecasteaux National Park in Coolyarbup in the Southern Ocean.

Salinity

The average salinity of the river water was at 895 to 2001 mg / l and rose steadily. 67% of the salt load come from Perup River and the River Tone, which provide only about 19 % of the water of the Warren River. To address the salinity of the river, the proposal calls for a major reforestation program for the entire catchment area of the river.
