Warren Truss

Warren Errol Truss ( born October 8, 1948 in Kingaroy ) is an Australian politician and currently President of the National Party in the Parliament .. He sits in March 1990 for the National Party in the Australian House of Representatives.

Life

Before he entered politics, he worked as a farmer. Between 1976 and 1990 he was an advisor to the Shire of Kingaroy, a former Local Government Area. Truss was a member of the shadow cabinet of the opposition between 1994 and 1996 and Deputy Chairman of Parliament zwischen 1997 and 1998. He was from 1997 to 1998 Minister of Consumer Protection and 1998-1999 Minister of Social Affairs. From 1999 to 2005 he was Minister for Agriculture.
