Washed Out

Washed Out is the stage name of musician Ernest Greene American ( born October 3, 1982 in Perry, Georgia). His music takes influences from the genres Low Fidelity, Chill Wave, Synth Pop, Dream pop and Electronica.

Life

Ernest Greene was born in 1983 in Perry, Georgia. He first worked with the band Bedroom. He parted from the band, as those pursued a more dance music oriented sound and he preferred quieter chillwave sounds. In June 2009, he moved back to his hometown of Perry, Georgia and started writing his own songs. This he used his bedroom as a music studio. Greene won it a number of awards from influential music bloggers after they became aware of MySpace on him and his songs.

His first two EPs Life of Leisure and High Times were published in August and September 2009. The former was limited to 300 pieces. His stage debut as Washed Out, he had in New York City in the Santos Party House. Although this was his second live show, but his first as Washed Out. Greene sells his songs on CD, LP and MP3.

The chillwave song Feel it all around is theme song of the comedy series Portlandia.
