Watco Companies
Watco Companies is an American company that operates several local and regional railway companies among others. The company is Pittsburg (Kansas).
Other industries are switching services, leasing of locomotives and freight cars, repair of rail vehicles, the provision of warehouses and the further transport of goods by road and the operation of the industrial park Greens Port Industrial Park in Harris County ( Texas).
History
In 1983, Charles R. "Dick" Webb ( 1938-2009 ) Watco Companies Inc. The company started with a shunting operation in DeRidder (Louisiana ). Then he took over the repair shops in Coffeyville (Kansas) and began his service to offer the large Class 1 railroads. Contacts with these railway companies formed the basis for the acquisition of individual secondary lines of these companies to own this weiterzubetreiben.

2011 took over Watco Companies, two local railway companies and 90 % of the regional railway company of Wisconsin and Southern Railroad.
As of May 2012, the grain transport for the agricultural co-operative CBH Group is to be adopted in Western Australia. The contract was signed in December 2011.
Railway companies
The railway companies are concentrated in the subsidiary Watco Transportation Services. The end of 2011 comprised the entire route network over 5900 km.
