Wayfarer (dinghy)

The Wayfarer is a sailing dinghy and was designed by Ian Proctor as a school, racing and hiking dinghy in 1957.

The Wayfarer dinghy was designed in Doppelknickspant construction for construction in marine plywood. Lockable storage areas in the stern and bow provide extra buoyancy in the event of a capsize. The Mark I or also called Woody type was sold as a complete boat and also as a kit. In order to preserve the concept of unit class strictly, but the latter are no longer available.

Since 1965 is also available in GRP manufactured Wayfarer versions that have, among other things, different arrangements of storage compartments and buoyancy chambers and partly also offer a self -bailing cockpit.

Versions

The versions Mark IA, II Plus and S were also built in a composite ( fiberglass hull with wood deck).
