History

First traces of settlement date back to the early Stone Age. In the 19th century three burial mounds from the early La Tene period were discovered with valuable grave goods. Weis churches mentioned in documents in 1030 for the first time. Weis Churches is a station of the Saarland circular hiking trail and the Saar- Hunsrück- Steig. In addition, located 4 kilometers north of Weis churches on the border to Rhineland- Palatinate is the second highest peak of the Saarland, the mold head.
