Location of White -Lüderode in Thuringia

White -Lüderode is a village in the Thuringian district of calibration field. Since 1 December 2011, the formerly independent municipality district of the rural community of Sunstone. In the village is the seat of the rural community.

Geography

The village lies on the northeastern edge of the Eichsfeld in a valley of the upper Geroder Eller. South of the angle mountain ( 415 m), an arm of the Ohmgebirges and north of the Iberg located (306 m) and the Telle mountain ( 337 m), which can be attributed to the Silke Roder hills cartographically. Still belongs to the local situation of about one kilometer south to the district Gerode the former Benedictine monastery Gerode.

History

The first mention of White Borns place in the year 874 ( Wizzanbrunno ). In the " Fulda Summarium " from the year 874 the Tenth, the many Thuringian villages had to pay to the monastery of Fulda was confirmed by King Ludwig. In 1945 the town was part of the Soviet zone of occupation and from 1949 part of East Germany. From 1961 until the turn and reunion 1989/1990 White -Lüderode was affected by the closure of the nearby German border. Since 1990, White -Lüderode part of the re-established state of Thuringia.

On 1 December 2011, the municipality of White -Lüderode joined together with the seven other municipalities of the administrative community Eichsfeld- Suedharz to the rural community of Sunstone.

Coat of arms

Blazon: In red with a triple corrugated silver sign foot a floating silver sechsspeichiges wheel, crossed over a pointing diagonally to the bottom right and a flaming sword to the top right -looking Rodehacke in silver. The community of White -Lüderode with the district Gerode leads in a silver coat of arms sechsspeichiges wheel, which refers to the former territorial belonging to the Archbishopric and Electorate of Mainz. The silver Wellenschildfuß are canting element as the place name Weissenborn again and stands symbolically for the source area of the White Borns and Geroder Eller. In equally persuasive way the Rodehacke reminiscent of the damage caused by deforestation districts Lüderode and Gerode. The flaming sword as an attribute of the archangel Michael symbolizes the patron saint of the Benedictine monastery Gerode that has accompanied and influenced the development of the community.

Economy and infrastructure

White -Lüderode is the nucleus of the region Eichsfeld- South Harz. Located here are several business establishments. Medical facilities include a medical center in the district of Weissenborn and directly next to exploiting dividend pharmacy. Purchases of daily necessities to get the residents at the local Edeka market.

Traffic

The station white -Lüderode was on the railway line Bleicherode - Herzberg. This is now closed.
