The Wellendorff Gold Creations GmbH & Co. KG ( officially Dr. Alex Wellendorff GmbH & Co. KG ) is a German jewelry manufactory in family -owned company headquartered in Pforzheim, Baden- Wuerttemberg. As a classic brand now considered the golden Wellendorff cord and colored, rotating in itself rings.
History
The factory was founded in 1893 by Ernst Alexander Wellendorff in Pforzheim. Previously Wellendorff had for the metal industry visited the local Ducal School of Applied Arts and Technical College and received his diploma with distinction. The proximity of the internationally renowned spa town of Baden -Baden promoted the rapidly emerging success of the self-employed designer and goldsmith. He soon became known in the Russian Empire and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
His son Alex Wellendorff took care of rebuilding the factory after its destruction in World War II.
In 1960, Hans Peter Wellendorff, the son of Alex and grandson of Ernst Alexander Wellendorff, as managing director of the company. His decision to establish the factory as a brand led, among other things, the development of the diamond "W" as a trademark ..
Today, the company in the third and fourth generation of Hans Peter Wellendorff and his sons Christopher and George is headed.
Products
In 1977, the classic Wellendorff cord was introduced, which is produced almost unchanged to this day. For a necklace cord a goldsmith needed a razor-thin 18 -karat gold wire of about 160 meters in length, from the many Arbeitsschrtiten by hand a necklace is woven.
Since 1993, the factory also manufactures jewelery with cold enamel. The cold enamel used is compared to the conventional enamel shockproof and particularly resistant. Characteristic of the Rings is the radiance of colored Wellendorff enamel, inlaid between the engraved patterns and ornaments on several levels.
In 1997 founded the first annual ring " Hong Kong", on the occasion of the handover of the British colony to the People's Republic of China, a company tradition. Wellendorff presented annually since then a limited annual ring, in which a topic or event is implemented in the form of a ring.
The factory manufactures exclusively with 18 -carat gold using precious stones as well as cold enamel.

Wellendorff is represented worldwide with nine boutiques in Berlin KaDeWe and Hotel Adlon, Mainz, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf, Vienna, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Beijing and through a network of selected jewelers.
