The World of Children's Theatre Festival is the first global theater festival for children by children. It takes place every two years, of which every second time in his birthplace of Lingen ( Ems) in Lower Saxony, Germany.

Idea

The World of Children's Theatre Festival brings children and young people together from different cultures and nations can share the entire population of the region in mind. Formation

The first theater group for kids in the theater Pedagogical center of the Emsland countryside eV ( TPZ Lingen ) was founded in 1981 by Norbert Radermacher. Two years later, the children showed the results of your work in a small fixed with the title: "Children play and dance for children." After a visit to the world - theater festivals for adults had Norbert Radermacher - build the idea of ​​a similar festival at the world level for children was then Director of Theatre Education Centre of the Emsland countryside eV ( TPZ Lingen ). Together with John Ytteborg, the then Secretary-General of the World Federation, Irene Luitz from the Netherlands and Dr. Bernd Ruping - on TPZ Lingen they created at that time staff, a concept for the first Cultural and Theatre Festival for Children at the world level.

The openness of the town of Lingen, offering collaboration of national and international organizations and the Children and Young People's Theatre Centre in the Federal Republic of Germany and the commitment of financial support from public and private donors and sponsors enabled the beginning of this great project. In cooperation with the " International Amateur Theatre Association " ( IATA / AITA ), the children's and youth theater center for the Federal Republic of Germany and the International Children Theatre Corporation ( ICTC), the 1st World Children's Theatre Festival has been planned and implemented in 1990 in Lingen.

History

This world's largest and most unique theater festival by children for children has since been in collaboration with the World Association for Amateur Theatre, the International Amateur Theatre Association ( IATA / AITA ) in 2- year cycles performed: Every four years at his birthplace Lingen ( Ems), intervening in various cities in the world. This rhythm was interrupted by the failure of the planned festival in Australia in 2012.

From 25 July to 1 August 2014, the feast, the previous cycle is accordingly, again take place in Lingen.
