Werner Meng

Werner Meng (* 1948) is a German legal scholar and holder of the Chair of Public Law, International Law and European Law at the University of Saarland and Director of the European Institute of the University.

Career

Werner Meng studied law at the Universities of Mainz and Lausanne ( Switzerland ) and received his doctorate and his habilitation at the University of Mainz. From 1980-1989 he was a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg, and in 1985 Research Scholar at the University of Michigan School of Law, Ann Arbor. After a temporary career as a lawyer in Munich Meng, in 1993, the Chair of Public Law, International Law, European Law and International Business Law at the Martin -Luther- University Halle- Wittenberg, at which he had received from 1997 to 1999 also director of the Institute for Business Law and the 1998 / 99 Dean of the Law Faculty was. Since 1999 he has been Professor of Public Law, International and European Law and Director of the European Institute, Department of Law at the University of Saarland. In addition, since 2009 he is Honorary Professor at the University of Yunnan, Kunming ( China).
