Werner Peter

Peter Werner ( born May 25, 1950 in Sander village ) is a former German football player.

Peter began with ten years of playing in his hometown football, first as a goalkeeper, and later as a striker. In the 1965/66 season he was with 44 -goal top scorer of the youth team. At age 18, he switched to chemistry Bitterfeld, completed his apprenticeship as a pipe fitter for and played during his time in the military 18 months for forward Wolfen in the county class. He then became the Oberliga HFC delegated the end of 1970 chemistry, where it was first used in the 2nd team that played in the second-rate DDR -Liga. In the DDR - Oberliga the 1.72 m wide from 1971 forward played in 256 point games in which he scored 66 goals. When the HFC 1984 relegation, he finished his playing career. It was relatively late in his career, in 1978, he was also appointed to the GDR selection. Overall, he played 9 A- international matches in which he scored 1 goal. With the Olympic team, he won the silver medal at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow; Peter came off the bench in the final. With his teammates, he was awarded in the same year with the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze.
