Werner Schuster (sportsman)

Werner Schuster ( born September 4, 1969 in Hirschegg ) is an Austrian ski coach and former ski jumper. Since 2008 he has been national coach of the German national team.

The Vorarlberg Werner Schuster, son of the active also as a ski jumper Willy Schuster was from 1986 to 1995 active ski jumper. His best finish was a second place at the Ski Jumping World Cup 1987/1988 in Sapporo. In addition, he holds since 1994, together with his colleague Matthias Wallner, probably the eternal hill record of 158.0 meters on the Copper Peak, the world's smallest ski jump, which was shut down after this jump.

After ending his playing career he was trained to ski trainers in Innsbruck. From 1998 he worked as a coach at Skigymnasium in Stams. In 2007 he was head coach of the Swiss national team. In March 2008 he was appointed as the successor of Peter Rohwein the coach of the German national team.

Schuster is married and has two children.
