Western Wei

The Western Wei Dynasty followed the disintegration of the Northern Wei, and ruled northern China from 535 to 556

After the Northern Wei Emperor Yuan Xiu had been killed by the Xianbei general Yuwen Tai, Yuan Baoju was used as emperor of Western Wei while Yuwen Tai acted as the real ruler. Although the Western Wei was smaller in territory and population as the Eastern Wei, she was able to withstand the attacks of the Eastern Empire, and was the Western Wei thanks to their better economic conditions capable of doing, the whole western part of the Liang - to conquer the empire to the south and occupied the territory of present-day Sichuan. In the year 557 dethroned Yuwen Tai's nephew Yuwen Hu Emperor Gong Yuwen Tai's son Yuwen and sat Jue to the throne, ended the Western Wei and founded the Northern Zhou.
