Westhoff (Texas)

The place is located in DeWitt County Westhoff in the central Texas in the United States of America on Highway 87, 14 miles northwest of Cuero and south of Gonzales (Texas ).

When in 1906 the railway was of Cuero by Stockdale (Texas ) expands, a place built along route, bearing the name Bello until 1909. As a post to come, but the name had to be changed to avoid confusion with the also located in Texas Bells ( Grayson County).

The place was then named after William Westhoff Senior, the founder of the neighboring village Meyer Ville. The town prospered, there were, for example, 4,800 bales of cotton annually processes.
