Westside Connection

Westside Connection is an American gangsta rap group. It was founded by rappers Ice Cube, Mack 10 and WC.

Attracted attention Westside Connection, among other things, the work in the hip- hop group Cypress Hill and the resulting Diss Song King of the Hill.

Career

In 1995, the three West Coast rapper appeared on the album of the rapper Mack 10 Mack 10 with the song Westside Slaughterhouse for the first time together in appearance. A year later founded Ice Cube, Mack 10 and WC, the group Westside Connection and released their first album, Bow Down. The recorded music rose in the U.S. Billboard 200 charts at # 2 and later reached with 1.7 million units sold platinum status. The two singles Bow Down and Gangstas Make the World Go Round could celebrate chart success. So Gangstas Make the World Go Round rose to position 40 and Bow Down at # 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

The second album of the group were released after a pause in 2003. As a single piece of the Gangsta Nation Westside Connection had recorded with musician Nate Dogg appeared. Gangsta Nation rose to number 33 of the U.S. charts. The second album was again placed with position 16 in the charts. Terrorist Threats did not achieve the success of the debut album with 679,000 units sold.

Mack 10 Following the release of their second album, separated from the group and WC was taken at Ice Cubes Lench Mob Records. In 2005, Mack said 10 that there will be no new material the group more. The reason mentioned by the musicians, the concentration of the individual members on their respective solo careers.

2008 Ice Cube stated the comeback of the group. Here, the rapper The Game was to replace the former member Mack 10. The common piece Get Use To It already had arisen with WC and The Game For the 2008 published album Raw Footage by Ice Cube.
