A hot Coup (Original Title: Where the Money Is) is an American criminal comedy from 2000, directed by Marek Kanievska, the screenplay by E. Max Frye, Topper Lilien and Carroll Cartwright. .

Action

The imprisoned bank robber Henry Manning fakes a stroke, after which he was transferred to a nursing home. He gets there to the nurse Carol MacKay, sees through Mannings camouflage. Carol has been married since high school with Wayne. First, Carol persuades the convict to another bank robbery and her husband Wayne can persuade to join the company. They attacked an armored car and get the money from the customer. The coup succeeds.

When Henry, however, is to be unexpectedly moved to a prison hospital, Carol decides to not allow this. They coat the ambulance and flees with Henry to Wayne. Forewarned, however, the police have this information and tell Carol and Henry. When the police circling the house, Carol, decided not to surrender.

Henry fled in a car and thus directs the attention of the police, so that Carol can go unnoticed escape with the looted money. After a fast drive is seen overthrow Henry's car into a river. The car goes under. Wayne is horrified. However, the last scene shows Carol with Henry in a jewelry store. While Carol deflects the jeweler, Henry directed by his wheelchair from his gaze on the glittering jewelry expenses ...

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun - Times of 14 April 2000, the plot was absurd, what would the representations of " self-assured " Paul Newman and the " left " Linda Fiorentino compensate. The film had a " slightly wiser action " as Diamonds with Kirk Douglas, much more intelligent dialogues and starring involved offering opportunities to show their human qualities. After watching one wants to see Paul Newman in another film - after watching of Diamonds would be a long time no see film.
