Anne Pitoniak

Anne Pitoniak ( born March 30, 1922 in Westfield, Massachusetts, † April 22, 2007 in Manhattan, New York City ) was an American actress.

Life

Anne Pitoniak was the daughter of Sophie, nee Porubovic, and John Pitoniak. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, she joined the United Service Organizations, where she appeared as an actress with the U.S. troops in Korea, Japan and the Philippines. At a show in Japan, she met Jerome Milord, whom she married on 17 June 1950 and with whom she had two children together, know. As military personnel, they lived together with him on a number of troops bases. The marriage failed and ended in divorce in 1968. Then she began to work as an actress and appeared sporadically on the theater and commercials. In 1975, she took on a study acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.

After graduating, she debuted on March 1, 1983 in the role of Thelma Cates with the play night, Mother on Broadway. The last performance of the play was on 26 February 1984. For their performances, they were nominated for Best Actress for a Tony Award and won a Theatre World Award. Another nomination for a Tony Award she received in 1994 for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Helen Potts in the play Picnic.

Pitoniak was according to your age occupied as sprightly older woman and played accordingly, often supporting roles. Your screen debut at the age of 60 years in the 1983 and directed by Michael Ritchie comedy The Survivors on the side of Walter Matthau and Robin Williams. She later starred in films such as The House of Cards, A Thousand Acres A Thousand Acres and with. Your last role in a feature film, she had appeared in 2002 at the age of 80 years of film drama Unfaithful.

On April 22, 2007 Pitoniak died at the age of 85 years from the consequences of their cancer. She left behind her two children and a grandson.
