Whyte and Mackay

Whyte and Mackay (also:. Whyte & Mackay, W & M, eng Whyte and Mackay Ltd. ) is a Scottish company that deals with spirits, especially whiskey. Founded in 1844 in Glasgow, it belongs since 2007 to the Indian United Breweries Group ( Vijay Mallya ).

From 2008 to 2011 Whyte & Mackay acted as sponsor of the competition Premier League Darts. The current sponsorship includes the Formula 1 team Force India, the Scottish football club Hibernian Edinburgh and the Indian cricket team Royal Challengers Bangalore (as of 2013). The automobile racing driver Paul di Resta is the official "Global Ambassador " of the brand Whyte & Mackay.

The company has acquired five more whiskey distilleries in the course of its history: Dalmore, Fettercairn, Invergordon, Isle of Jura and Tamnavulin. The best-known representative of the company is the Master Blender Richard Paterson, known as The Nose.
