History and catchment area
The Wiehoff rises on the western flank of the Langeberg Mountains. Your source lies on the southern outskirts of Elmshagen, the southernmost district of the municipality Look Castle, in agriculturally used area to approximately 398 m above sea level. NN.
Initially, the Wiehoff flows after leaving the Elmshagener - area to the south by a fringed by forest valley, with the mountains Falkenstein ( with the ruins of Falkenstein ), Altenburg ( with the Altenburg ) and Emser Mountain in the west and the mountains Steinberg, Sengelsberg and Niedensteiner head ( with the lookout tower Hesse tower) in the east. Therein it passes through the nucleus of Niedenstein and then directly through the district weighting village.
Then the Wiehoff bends in the deserted village of Hausen from west to infuse into a wooded area. In it it opens to about 209 m above sea level. NN in the flowing there from north-northwest zoom Eder inflow Ems.
The catchment area of 15.27 km ² comprises Wiehoff.
