Wilcza, Silesian Voivodeship

Wilcza is a Polish village in Gmina Pilchowice of powiat Gliwice in Silesian Voivodeship halfway from Gliwice to Rybnik, both of which are about twelve miles away.

The village was first mentioned in 1486, but originally consisted of the villages of Upper and Lower Wilcza Wilcza.

Attractions

The shot wooden church of St. Nicholas dates back to an earlier building of 1480. The present building was built in the first half of the 18th century from Gliwice Zimmermann Jacob Siedlaczek. The outer walls of the shot wooden church are constructed of beams and as the roof with shingles. In addition, the nave is topped by a roof turret with onion dome. Is the large front tower with needle helmet on the west side of the church. In the interior are located next to the main altar with an altarpiece of the titular saint of the 17th century still Organ and side altars of the late Baroque (18th century) and the image of Our Lady of Frydek from the year 1709.
