Wilder Freiger

Wilder Freiger and Mullerhutte of Übeltalferner seen.

The Wild Freiger (Italian Cima Libera) is a 3,418 meters high Firngipfel in the Stubai Alps in Tyrol on the border between Austria and Italy. The mountain is located in the main Alpine ridge between free Gersch Arte and Pfaff low, the latter saddle separates the summit from the nearby Wilder Pfaff and the Zuckerhütl. The most beautiful sight of the mountain offers from Grünausee near the northern Sulzenauhütte.

Increases

The mountain offers numerous rallies, both from the north from the Stubai Valley and from the south, from the Italian side.

The most committed increase from north leads from the Nürnberger Hütte ( 2280 m above sea level. A. ) first to the south, south-west of the Urfallspitze through up to Seescharte where the ascent route from the Sulzenauhütte opens. Next to the southwest it goes below the Gamsspitze through up to an icefield. The former increase the lead, north of the ice field to the ridge Wegenstein shock a piece but will now, at least in summer, relegated to the east to reach below the ice field to a back, takes place on the first of the climb to the ridge. Over the ridge to reach P.3222, where you walk through the glacier and reached the south-east, crossing below the signal peaks and passes through this to the summit.

The rise of the south is in contrast to the North increases without ice equipment possible, even if on the ascent route from Ridnauntal on the Teplitzer hut to Mug House (Italian: Rifugio Gino Biasi, 3191 m), the dead glacier tongue is southeast of the cup to cross. The rise of the mug house is via the south ridge of the signal peak with a meteorological station and continue northwest direction over the traverse to the main summit. From Mug House of Wilde Freiger can be reached in just under an hour.

There are other possibilities increase, even by the miller or the Sulzenauhütte that are committed but less frequently and are usually more difficult.
