Wildgrat

Wildgrat with ascent route from the east

The Wildgrat ( 2971 m above sea level. A. ) is a powerful, rugged and frequently visited summit in the Oetztal Alps in Tyrol. It is the intersection of all the ridges of the Wildgratstocks, which represents the northern extension of the violin comb. Since the Wildgrat is only dominated in the south by higher peaks, it offers a comprehensive panorama of Pitz, Inn and the Ötztal valley and the surrounding mountains.

Both of the West and of the East designated walkways lead to the summit. The Way of the West begins with Hochzeigerhaus, which is accessible from Jerzens by chairlift. Starting point of the eastern rise is the Erlanger Hütte. Both ways require increase slip resistance.
