Wildhorn

The Wildhorn is 3'248 m above sea level. M. the highest elevation of the Wildhorn group in the western Bernese Alps. About the mountaintop the cantonal border between Valais and Bern runs. There are two small glacier Glacier des Audannes and Glacier de Ténéhet on the eastern flank of the Wildhorn. To the northeast extends 2 km long Tungelgletscher. The mountain was climbed for the first time in September of 1843.

Available for sale in Iffigtal, above the Iffigsees that Wildhornhütte the SAC is situated on 2'303 meters above sea level. M. at the northern foot of the Wildhorn. From it the easiest climb on glacier is at the summit. Difficult and time-consuming are the increases of the Geltenhütte, about the Col du Brochet ( 2'759 m).
