Wilfred Jacobs

Sir Wilfred Ebenezer Jacobs ( * October 19, 1919, † 11 March 1995) was an Antiguan politician and the first and last Governor and first Governor-General of Antigua and Barbuda.

Biography

Jacobs was born on February 27, 1967 the first Governor of Antigua and Barbuda. This office he held until November 1, 1981 as he was after independence from Great Britain and Northern Ireland as a sovereign Member State ( Commonwealth Realm ) within the Commonwealth of Nations, the first Governor-General of Antigua and Barbuda.

On June 10, 1993, he was replaced as Governor General of James Carlisle.
