Wilhelm Herchenbach

Wilhelm Herchenbach ( born November 13, 1818 in Neunkirchen, † December 14, 1889 in Dusseldorf ) was a German writer.

Life

After his schooling in Neunkirchen Wilhelm Herchenbach took Schreiber activities mayoralty Neunkirchen, worked as a bailiff 's assistant at the nearby Hennef and then got a job as a teacher in PEMPELFORT in Dusseldorf. In the period 1852-1854 he was a private tutor by Stephanie of Hohenzollern, daughter of Prince Karl Anton of Hohenzollern- Sigmaringen, who became Queen of Portugal. The children of Robert and Clara Schumann taught Herchenbach during the concert tours of their parents.

From 1868 Wilhelm Herchenbach devoted only to writing. In the series " Tales of Youth and People " published 200 volumes with legends, historical narratives, etc. The books were launched until well into the 30s of the 20th century. Herchenhain Bach's literary activity was characterized by his deep piety. The voltage was held clearly distinguished between good and evil. His keen interest in local history led in 1880 together with the archaeologists Constantin Coenen and Oskar Rautert establishing the "Association for the history and antiquities of Dusseldorf and the surrounding area ."
