Description

The Wilhelmsblick 1861 created in the course of construction of the road through the Bode Valley under the direction of the eponymous for the viewpoint road builder William, whose former name is Kruger's height today largely forgotten. He had dug a 20 m long tunnel through the local rock mass, to go to the view on the opposite side. Beyond the tunnel there is a path with some wooden steps up to the vantage point above the Bode and road. From there, the gaze falls on both sides of the ridge in the Bode Valley, although the viewpoint is largely overgrown; therefore obtained in the cold season, when the trees and shrubs are leafless, good view options.

The Wilhelmsblick is included as No. 66 in the system of stamp locations of the Harz hiking pin.
