Will Sheff

Will Sheff (* July 7, 1976 in New Hampshire) is a guitarist and singer from Austin, Texas, frontman of indie band Okkervil River.

He founded in 2001 with Jonathan Meiburg, also a member of Okkervil River, Shearwater, the band in which he, however, no longer participates. In addition to his involvement with Shearwater and Okkervil River writes and plays Sheff many songs as a solo artist, of which there are, however, only a single release. Besides his work as a songwriter and singer, he plays guitar, banjo and harmonica.

Sheff attended the Kimball Union Academy, a private school, and the Macalester College with a major in English in Saint Paul, Minnesota. In addition, he worked with The Mendoza Line on the duet Aspect of an Old Maid with and plays on the album Cedar Land of the band Palaxy Tracks piano.

Currently, Will Sheff produced a new album with the singer / songwriter Roky Erickson and the band Birth of Youth.
