William Arrowsmith
William Ayres Arrowsmith ( born April 13, 1924 in Orange, New Jersey, † February 20, 1992 in Boston ) was a classical scholar and comparative literature scholar.
Arrowsmith studied at Oxford University and Princeton University. He received twelve honorary doctorates, the Prix de Rome, a Guggenheim Fellowship and Eugenio Montale - Prize for his work.
His granddaughter Nina Arrowsmith (born 13 September 1979) founded 2005 in Hamburg literature and concept agency Arrowsmith Agency.
