William Francis Malooly

William Francis Malooly ( born January 18, 1944 in Baltimore) is an American clergyman and Bishop of Wilmington, Delaware.

Life

The Auxiliary Bishop of Baltimore, Thomas Austin Murphy, ordained him a priest on May 7, 1970.

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop on 12 December 2000 in Baltimore and Titular Bishop of Flumenzer. The Archbishop of Baltimore, Cardinal William Henry Keeler, donated to him on March 1st of the next year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were William Clifford Newman, Auxiliary Bishop of Baltimore, and William Donald Borders, retired archbishop of Baltimore. As a motto he chose Rejoice in the Lord.

On 7 July 2008 he was appointed bishop of Wilmington, and introduced into the office on 8 September of the same year.
