William Horwood (novelist)

William Horwood ( born May 12, 1944 in Oxford) is a British author of novels of the genre animal fantasy. His first book " The Stone of Duncton " is considered a classic of the genre. Main characters are moles. In addition, Horwood was responsible for continuations of the classic children's book The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame.

Not so successful were his stories about wolves. Its originally planned as a trilogy book " Wolves of Time" was shortened by the publisher in two volumes, so that the middle band " Wanderers of the Wolfways " has never been released.

From 1963 he studied at Bristol University, where he graduated in 1966 with a Bachelor of Arts graduated in Geography and Economics.
