William II, Count of Eu

Wilhelm II (franz: Guillaume II d' Eu; † January 1096 ) was a Count of Eu from the family of the Rolloniden. He was a son of Count Robert of Eu and the Lady Beatrix.

In alliance with Odo of Champagne, Robert de Montbray, Gilbert de Clare and Roger de Lacy, Wilhelm conspired in 1088 against King William II Rufus in order to market it and replace it with Stephen of Aumale. The conspiracy was uncovered in time but what Wilhelm fled to Normandy, his English possessions were confiscated.

On January 13, 1096 William II Rufus convened in Salisbury, type a judgment by the conspirators in judicial duels break free from their guilt and thus the refund them their goods should be envisaged. Wilhelm went against his accuser Geoffrey Baynard, formerly Sheriff of Yorkshire, and lost the battle. On royal decree he was blinded and castrated it, a few days later, he died from the effects of punishment. His cousin and co-conspirator Guillaume d' Audrey was hanged.
