William Kellner

William Wolf Kellner ( born July 30, 1900 in Austria, † May 1996 Brighton, East Sussex ) was an Austro- British production designer.

Life

He began his career as a draftsman for the film A Canterbury Tale ( 1944). This was followed by further orders for I know where I'm going (1945 ), encounter (1945 ), errors in the Hereafter (1946) and Black Narcissus (1947). In 1948 he moved to the scene image and worked on several British productions. Waiter was twice nominated for the Oscar 1950 for King Love and 1960 for Suddenly, Last Summer. His last major commission was for the television series Girl in the Clouds ( 1970 to 1971 ). In 1949 he won committed at the International Film Festival in Venice the prize for Best Production Design with the movie nobility.
