William Martin Croll

William Martin Croll ( born April 9, 1866 in Upper Macungie, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, † October 21, 1929 in Reading, Pennsylvania ) was an American politician. Between 1923 and 1925 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

William Croll attended the common schools and the Keystone State Normal School in Kutztown. He then attended the Eastman Business College in Poughkeepsie, New York. Then he taught for some time as a teacher. In 1889 he moved to Maxatawny, where he worked in the trade. Since 1897 he worked in Reading in the clothes trade and the banking industry. Between 1909 and 1912 he was treasurer in Berks County; 1913 to 1918, he served as Naval Officer at the port of Philadelphia. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party. In the years 1912 and 1920, he participated as a delegate to the Democratic National Conventions.

In the congressional elections of 1922 Croll was in the 14th electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Louis Thomas McFadden on March 4, 1923. Since he has not been confirmed in 1924, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1925. After his time in the U.S. House of Representatives William Croll took his previous activities on again. He died on 21 October 1929 in Reading.
