William V of Angoulême

William V Taillefer (franz: Guillaume Taillefer, † 1120 in Deutz ) was a Count of Angoulême Taillefer out of the house. He was a son of Count Fulk of Angoulême and the Condoha of Eu.

He was in conflict with Count Boson III. La Marche, of 1091 his castle of Confolens attack, but it was killed. Wilhelm sought out its influence on the Marche to strengthen by Odo was based there against the sister of the fallen Count. He, however, turned into conflict with Hugo VI. of Lusignan, who also raised hereditary claims to the Marche. An attack on the Lusignan abbey Charroux could successfully fend off but Wilhelm.

Wilhelm undertook an " armed pilgrimage " ( Crusade ) in the Holy Land. On his return journey he died at the Abbey of Deutz near Cologne and was also buried there.

He was married to Vitapoi, a daughter of Count Wilhelm II of Amanieu Bénauges (House of Albret ). Their children were:
