Willy Kanis

Willy Kanis ( born July 27, 1984 in Kampen ) is a Dutch Bobfahrerin and former cyclist.

Cycling career

Willy Kanis began with the bicycle racing on the BMX bike because her brother was active in the sport. The Dutch Cycling Federation convinced her to use her talent on the web. In both 2005 as well as 2006, she was BMX World Champion. " In the summer I ride a BMX, in winter on the track ," she says even her priorities.

Kanis was multiple Dutch champion in the short-term train - disciplines Keirin, sprint and individual pursuit, and came together with Yvonne Hijgenaar in the team sprint at several UCI Track Cycling World Cup on the podium. In the 2007 Track World Championships were she and Hijgenaar in Palma de Mallorca vice - world champions in the team sprint. Transition to the Bob

For the winter season 2012/2013 Kanis began training on the two-man bob, behind the coxswain Esmé Kamphuis. In his first start together, the duo finished the World Cup race in Whistler fourth place. The goal of Willy Kanis was to participate in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, but she could not qualify.
