During more than 18 years here was the northwestern terminus of the Yonge- University - Spadina Line. In November 1992, construction began on the extension to Downsview, where a link to the Sheppard Line was planned. After a little more than three years, the extension could be put into operation on 30 March 1996. This meant that the terminus of several bus lines was moved to Downsview and the bus station in Wilson has since been undersubscribed.
