Wilton Persons

Wilton Burton "Jerry" Persons ( born January 19, 1896 in Montgomery, Alabama; † 5 September 1977 in Arlington County, Virginia) was an American major general in the U.S. Army and Chief of Staff of the White House.

Biography

After school he studied electrical engineering at the Alabama Polytechnic Institute and acquired there in 1916 with a Bachelor of Science (BS Electrical Engineering ). He then joined the U.S. Army in 1917 and went there during his last until 1949 service to major general.
