Donald Regan

Donald Thomas Regan ( born December 21, 1918 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, † 10 July 2003 in Williamsburg, Virginia) was an American manager and politician.

Education and military service

Donald Regan studied English at Harvard University and graduated in 1940 as Bachelor from. Regan served in World War II in the United States Marine Corps, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (Lieutenant Colonel).

Economy and Politics

Originally from an Irish- Catholic family Regan was from 1971 to 1980, Chief Executive Officer (CEO ) of the New York bank Merrill Lynch, where he worked since 1946. Ronald Reagan appointed him in 1981 to the 66 finance ministers of the United States .. In 1985 he changed his position in the government with James Baker and was chief of staff of the White House. From this position he joined in 1987 as a result of the Iran -Contra affair back.

Donald Regan was married to Ann Buchanan and had four children.
