Wiltrud Urselmann

Wiltrud Urselmann ( born May 12, 1942 in Krefeld ) is a former German swimmer.

Career

She celebrated her first major international success at the European Swimming Championships in Budapest in 1958, when she won the bronze medal over 200 meters breaststroke.

With the Summer Olympic Games in Rome in 1960, she won as part of the all-German Olympic Team 200m breaststroke behind Anita Lonsbrough the silver medal. In addition, she held from June 6 to August 27, 1960 the world record in the 200m breaststroke in 02:50,2 minutes and placed in her career 50 German swimming records.

In 1957 she was elected to Germany's sportswoman of the year.

Wiltrud Urselmann is married to the former 197- times German water polo national team Hermann Haverkamp.
