Wind Telecom

The Weather Investments SpA based in Rome is an Italian private equity firm (private equity), enters the investments in the area of telecommunications companies. It is owned by the Egyptian Naguib Sawiris businessman.

Investments

Orascom Telecom Holding

Weather Investments owns 50 percent plus one share of Orascom Telecom Holding SAE, one of the leading telecommunications companies in the Middle East and Africa. In June 2005, Naguib Sawiris has delegated this majority share of Orascom Telecom to Weather Investments.

Wind Telecomunicazioni

Weather Investments has from March 2005 to late November 2006, 100 percent of the Italian telecommunication company Wind SpA Telecomunicazioni taken.

Wind Hellas

In April 2007, TIM Hellas from Apax Partners and Texas Pacific Group was acquired. In May 2007, the activities of TIM Hellas and Q- Telecom were merged and renamed both in Wind Hellas.

Tellas

About the Wind Hellas was declared on 19 October 2007 that 50 per cent plus 1 share of Tellas of the Dimosia Epichirisi Ilektrismou to be taken for 175 million euros. Tellas S. A. is a Greek fixed-line and Internet providers with more than 460,000 customers and its own fiber optic backbone network.
