Geography

Location

Windshausen lies both on the western edge of the Harz as well as on those of the Harz Nature Park. It is located at Markau inflow Schlungwasser. Northeast is Bad Grund (Harz ), south Badenhausen, southwest and northwest Eisdorf Gittelde.

History

1234 Windshausen was first mentioned. On March 1, 2013, the member communities of the velvet municipality bathroom closed base ( resin ) to the new municipality of Bad Grund (Harz ) together. Windshausen was the administrative seat of the velvet municipality and is now the administrative center of the municipality of Bad Grund (Harz ).

Traffic

Windshausen located in the immediate vicinity of the B243, which runs from Osterode to Bad Gandersheim. The breakpoint Windshausen reason was on the railway line Gittelde bath. This is decommissioned.
