Windthorst is a place in Archer and Clay County, Texas.

History

On 13 July 1891 the contract was concluded between Clark and Plumb and Mr FT leather tanners, which provided for a settlement by German Catholics in an area of ​​75,000 acres. Clark and Plumb also pledged to grant the money to build a church, a rectory and a school. Two priests studied in consequence of this land and built it on 26 July 1891 the first wooden cross on which they anbrachten the name of the new settlement, Windthorst: Windhorst has since been named after the adversary Bismarck, Ludwig Windthorst. As the official date of incorporation as a Catholic community Friday, January 1, 1892 is specified.
