Wishbringer

Wishbringer (English for "Wish Bringer" ) is a fantasy text adventure by Infocom in 1985. It plays in the Zork universe and is aimed, in contrast to other Infocom games of the genre rather to Beginner Interactive Fiction.

Action

The player plays the mailman in the small fishing village Festeron. He is an old lady who runs a small shop for magic accessories to a letter. The old lady asks the players, their cat from the clutches of a witch named " The Evil One " ("The Wicked " ) to free. When leaving the business in the village Festeron has a dark, nightmarish and threatening image itself turned his name " Witchville ". When searching for the cat to the player of the stone " Wishbringer " which grants under certain circumstances desires whose fulfillment promote the game helps. Seven wishes are for this player. For their application they must each carry a certain item with them.

Gameplay and technology

Wishbringer is a text adventure, that is, there is no graphic elements. Environment and events are made and the actions of the player entered as on-screen text also as text using the keyboard. The novel " Wishbringer " by Craig Shaw Gardner plays in the same world as Wishbringer, but is ajar from the action here at the game.
