Witch Craft Works

Witchcraft Works (Japaneseウィッチ クラフト ワークス, Witchi Kurafuto Wākusu ) is a manga by Ryu Mizunagi, which was adapted into a 2014 anime television series.

Action

Protagonist of the story is the student Takamiya Honoka. As usual he has such class service and brings out the garbage, he looks like a part of the school building falls down on him. He is, however, protected by his classmate, the seemingly emotionless Ayaka Kagiri, in a witches' clothing. Ayaka is tall and the most attractive and most popular girl in school. Honoka learns from her that there are two types of witches: " ( Ivory ) Tower witches" ( (象牙 の)塔 の 魔女, ( Zoge no) tō no majo ), such as those who attacked him, only their magic use for selfish things and those who do not care what happens to others, as well as " Workshop witches" (工房 の 魔女Kobo no majo ) as Ayaka, who erected in every major city a "workshop" and ensure that magic is not for evil purposes is abused. Development and publication

Ryu Mizunagi took part in spring 2004 at the young mangaka Competition Afternoon Shikishō the publishing house, where he was the short story Witch Craft Works submitted under the pseudonym Rūrei Kuroyamayagi and it received an honorable mention. The main female character was here already Ayaka Kagiri and the male protagonist Takamiya, but still no name. After his first manga series Kill Wizard magazine Shōnen Magazine in 2006 came to an end, he began designing a second series called Majokko mono (魔女っ娘 モノ, dt "Witch Girl mono; witch girl things "), whose protagonist Honoka said. In the U.S., the manga of Random Houses manga imprint Vertical been licensed and should appear as from 30 September 2014.

Anime

JCStaff adapted the first six volumes of the manga than the anime. Directed by Tsutomu Mizushima and the character design was by Yukie Hiyamizu. The 12 episodes were aired from January 5th to March 23, 2014 on Tokyo MX and up to three days delay on TV Aichi, AT- X, BS11 and MBS. An English subtitled version is streamed via Crunchyroll in the Americas, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Scandinavia.

The music for the series comes from the techno-pop band Techno Boys Pulcraft Green Fund. The header title divine intervention is sung by fhána and credits title Witch Activity (ウィッチ ☆ アクティビティ, Witchi Akutibiti ) of KMM - dan, a witch group within the series and here is a group of the corresponding voice actresses Shiori Izawa, Momo Asakura, Shiina Natsukawa, Yuko Iida and Natsumi Hioka.

The single was released on January 22 to bias and that the final credits on 5 February 2014 in accordance with the cover art is inspired by the album The Man-Machine of the German band Kraftwerk.
