WÅ‚odzimierz Czacki

Włodzimierz Czacki ( born April 16, 1834 in Poryck (now Ukraine); † March 8, 1888 in Rome ) was a Cardinal of the Catholic Church.

Life

Czacki was first seminarian at the Pontifical Polish College in Rome. After studying theology, he was ordained priest on 30 November 1867. On August 12, 1879, he was called by Pope Leo XIII. appointed Titular Archbishop of Salamis and consecrated on August 17th and the bishop. From September 19, 1879 until his death in was Apostolic Nuncio to France.

In the consistory in September 1882 he was created cardinal and received the Roman Church St. Pudenziana as titular church.
