Wojciech Bogusławski

Wojciech Bogusławski ( born April 9, 1757 Glinno at Posen; † July 23, 1829 in Warsaw) was a Polish actor, opera singer, writer, translator, theater director and founder of Theatre in Kalisz.

Life

It is also called the "father of Polish theater ."

In 1801 he founded the theater from its own resources in Kalisz. From 1810 to 1814, he was Director of the Music Academy in Warsaw. It is the third oldest Polish theater. Since 1936, it bears his name.
