Wojciech Weiss

Life

Weiss studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Paris, Rome and Florence. From 1907 he was a professor and rector of the Kraków Academy of Fine Arts. He painted mainly landscapes, portraits and nudes. Artistically he was under the influence of Edvard Munch and Jacek Malczewski. Weiss was already recognized in his lifetime, both in Poland and abroad as an artist. One of his students was Antoni Teslar.
