Wolfgang Meyer

Wolfgang Meyer ( born August 13, 1954 in Crailsheim ) is a German clarinetist.

He studied from 1966 to 1972 Clarinet with Otto Hermann at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Stuttgart and from 1972 to 1978 at the Hannover University of Music with Hans Deinzer. He was " Young Musicians " winners of various competitions and the high school competition.

In 1979, he received a teaching position at the University of Music Karlsruhe and since 1989 a professor there.

He held master classes in Brazil, Italy, Japan, Canada and Finland. As a soloist, Wolfgang Meyer sets especially for contemporary works, including Tiberiu Olah, Jean Françaix, Péter Eötvös and Edison Denisov, a.
