Wolfgang Schilling (footballer born 1957)

Wolfgang Schilling (born 18 March 1957) is a former German football player.

Career

Schilling moved to the junior level of FC Carl Zeiss Jena in 1974. Previously, he was already in the youth of the BSG Chemie Jena

The exterior and interior defender played from the season 1979/1980 season to the 1988/1989 for the first team of FC Carl Zeiss Jena. As early as 1980, in his first year as a pro, Schilling with Jena fdgb Cup winner was. In the final match against FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt the defensive player was in the starting lineup on his team. Schilling played with Jena during his professional time is often in the top regions of the East German football. 1982/83 and 1985/86 respectively Jena was third in 1988 and again the final of the fdgb Cup was achieved, the FCCZJ but lost 0-2 aet against the master Berliner FC Dynamo. Schilling, however, was not in this final with on the field. Since then Berlin also won the league, Schilling qualified for the second time in his career with Jena for the European Cup Winners' Cup. However, this time difference, the club already in the second round against the Italian representatives Sampdoria. For use Schilling came there but no more. In the league, the defender came in his last season to just three bets. After the season 1988/89 he ended his career.
